One of the most sustainable fibers happens to come from one of the fastest renewable resources. Viscose Bamboo grows incredibly fast. In fact, some can grow up to two feet each day and some even faster than that and can do so with about a 1/3 less water to grow than cotton. Viscose Bamboo can grow almost anywhere in the world except it doesn't do well in the North or South Pole. But we don't blame it.

Viscose Bamboo is actually a species of grass; a grass that has been used for thousands of years to build homes in Asia. Slowly but surely, it is becoming more and more popular in the U.S as more information about it is available. Viscose Bamboo can be used in place of wood in the construction of housing. Trees are not ready to be used as wood for at least 60 years whereas viscose bamboo can be ready within three to seven years.

Viscose Bamboo fabric, which is the type of viscose bamboo we really like, is light and strong and is really soft to the touch and requires less dye than cotton. Viscose Bamboo also has many antibacterial qualities, which the viscose bamboo fabric is able to retain even through multiple washes to reduce bacteria. In addition, viscose bamboo fabric has insulating properties and will keep you cooler in summer and warmer in winter. This is all we needed to know before we started making our own viscose bamboo apparel for men and ladies at Royal Apparel.
