In its purest form, organic cotton is higher quality, safer for farmers and ultimately one of the best sustainable threads made. Not to mention its favorable natural color. This natural plant-based textile is grown, processed, combed and sewn into your wardrobe’s favorites. Organic cotton uses 90% less water and greenhouse gases which lessen our environmental footprints. It requires 62% less artificial energy as it relies on nature's own energy to thrive. Overall, organic cotton is not only better for the Earth but better for you and others. Royal Apparel organic cotton goes through a credible certification process from The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).
Just like our 100% organic cotton, viscose bamboo organic cotton threads are as soft as a bed of pillows and mimic a silk-like feel. Bamboo plants are harvested, turned into yarn and woven into the sustainable material our customers love. Naturally, bamboo is a viable plant. It does not require large amounts of water as it is a natural humectant, meaning it preserves moisture. It also does not need to be replanted as it essentially replants itself during growth. Even in its final form, bamboo viscose organic cotton maintains its ability to be a breathable fabric, making it a comfortable go-to all year round.
Our viscose hemp organic cotton is not only known to be clean and green, but strong and sturdy as well. Let’s just say it could be considered the Hercules of sustainable fabrics. This super crop has virtually no need for herbicides or other toxins. Due to its drought resistant nature, this plant is able to thrive in multiple climates, including those with little irrigation. Not only is it a sturdy crop but its nature to reduce soil compaction simultaneously provides nutrients to the soil.
One of the world's biggest problems is single use plastics, like bottles. We take those plastics and turn them into classic durable American made pieces. The foundation of recycled bottles, with a variety of blends like organic cotton, lay the groundwork for our sustainable fabric that is both chic and comfortable. The process of turning plastic bottles into ethically produced apparel is called recycled polyethylene terephthalate, or rPET. An estimated 60 million plastic bottles are thrown out every day, our line saves at least 2 million and we only aim to get better.
Low impct dyes are dyes with a higher than average absorption rate. Less water is requiresd in the rinse process and less dye runs off in the water. Therefore, the dyes create less waste while keeping their vibrant color.
